The Volunteer Ramp Project was founded in late 2024 out of a passion and vision our organization’s president has for using his engineering background to bring accessibility to those experiencing mobility challenges and who are struggling to address those challenges financially.

Our Mission
Volunteer Ramp Project’s mission is to provide freedom, independence and accessibility to
individuals facing mobility challenges by constructing residential mobility ramps for those unable to afford them.
Through community-driven efforts and partnerships, we strive to empower individuals to navigate a major obstacle of their day — leaving their house — with dignity and ease.

Our Vision
A community where everyone, regardless of financial constraints, can move freely in and out of their own homes with dignity and ease.

Our Board of Directors
Get to know the dedicated individuals behind the Volunteer Ramp Project.

Gary Guyette is a professional mechanical engineer and works for Mesa Associates as a VP. He is married to Sherri, and has three adult children and two grandsons.
Gary is now channeling his skill and passion to serving his community with this new endeavor, making a tangible difference in the lives of those in need.

Joe Connell has over 30 years in the real estate and development field, and graduated from the University of Tennessee with a B.S. in Business in 1976.
He is a past board member and past president of the Tennessee Industrial Development Council and of the East Tennessee Industrial Council. He works closely with state and TVA Officials and has a long history/relationship with them.

Dr. Gardner is a board certified family medicine physician who has practiced in Maryville, Tennessee for 20 years. He sees adolescent, middle aged and elderly patients, but has a special interest in preventative health and in helping patients make lifestyle changes to improve their health.
He enjoys time with family on Fontana Lake and travel.

Brianna Langley Henderson is currently serving as the Marketing Manager for Bailey International, a role where she crafts and executes strategic marketing initiatives. She has also presented at conferences on the impact of communication and sustainability.
Brianna is the founder and author of Signals & Strategy, a LinkedIn newsletter that explores the intersection of marketing & communication and their direct impact on the bottom line.
